Benefits
Know exactly what every workout costs your body and get a recovery plan built around your data. Train harder on the right days, pull back before you overtrain, and recover up to 2x faster with personalized guidance from your AI coach.
How to Use
Stick the adhesive mount to your chest. Snap Myth on magnetically. Tap Begin in the app for a 60-second pre-workout read. Train. Tap End for a 60-second post-workout read. Your session cost, recovery score, and tonight's plan appear instantly.
The Science
Hard training triggers vagal withdrawal, a measurable drop in heart-rate variability (HRV). Myth captures your RMSSD before and after every session using clinical-grade chest PPG. The delta between the two reads is a direct, honest measure of how much stress the workout put on your nervous system.
What's Included
Myth Recovery Sensor, magnetic charging dock (USB-C), 30 medical-grade adhesive mounts (one month supply), and full access to the Myth app + AI recovery coach.
Built By Us. U.S. Owned.
Mȳth started because the founder couldn't find a recovery tool that answered one simple question: what did today's training actually cost my body? After 5+ years of training through his own recovery failures, he built the product he kept looking for and never found. Mȳth is a solo-founded, U.S.-owned company operating under a single holding entity. No outside investors. No venture capital. No board to answer to. Every product decision is made by the person who uses it. Designed, tested, and shipped from the United States.

Our Story

Built By Us. U.S. Owned.

Every recovery tool on the market told you the same thing: here's your score. A number. A color. A vague suggestion to "take it easy." None of them answered the only question that actually mattered after a hard session: what did today's training cost my body — and what do I owe it back?

The founder spent 5+ years chasing that answer through every wearable, every app, every overpriced subscription that promised clarity and delivered dashboards.

This isn't a tech company that discovered fitness. It's a training tool built from the inside out.

Mȳth exists because one person got tired of buying products built by committees who don't train, funded by investors who don't care, and designed by teams who've never had to choose between pushing through and pulling back with real consequences on the line.

No outside investors. No venture capital. No board to answer to. Solo-founded. U.S.-owned. Designed, tested, and shipped from the United States under a single holding entity — because the fastest way to build something that actually works is to remove every person from the process who doesn't have skin in the game.

Technical Specifications

Myth Recovery Sensor
Sensor
  • MAX30102 chest PPG — medical-grade optical sensor using red + infrared light to read blood flow through the skin
  • Heart-rate variability (RMSSD) — the gold-standard metric for measuring nervous-system recovery between heartbeats
  • Two 60-second readings per session — one before your workout, one after; the gap between them is your session cost
  • 0.992–0.997 concordance vs ECG — near-identical accuracy to a clinical chest-strap electrocardiogram
Design & Build
  • 34 × 34 × 7 mm — a rounded square smaller than an AirPods case, shaped like the app icon
  • ~10 grams — lighter than two quarters; you won't feel it during training
  • 316L surgical steel face — the same alloy used in watches and medical implants, finished in matte-black PVD
  • IPX4 sweat-sealed — silicone O-ring gasket keeps moisture out through any workout
  • Zero buttons, zero screens, zero ports — every interaction happens through the app; the device stays perfectly clean
Power & Charging
  • Months per charge — 110 mAh battery only wakes for two 60-second reads a day, then drops back to deep sleep at under 5 microamps
  • Magnetic charging dock — set the sensor on the dock and it snaps into place; same magnetic face that holds it to the chest mount
  • USB-C input, ~70 min full charge — plug the dock into any USB-C cable; no proprietary chargers
  • BLE 5.0 auto-pairing — the sensor pairs to your iPhone the first time it sits on the dock; no Bluetooth menu, no PIN codes

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the measurement actually accurate?
Yes. Myth takes stationary 60-second chest readings while you stand still, which is the condition where optical PPG produces its highest accuracy. A 2026 validation study confirmed 0.992–0.997 concordance against ECG reference under these exact conditions. Most wrist wearables measure during sleep or movement, where accuracy drops significantly.
What does the device actually measure?
Myth measures heart-rate variability (HRV) and heart rate using a clinical-grade optical sensor on your chest. It takes one reading before your workout and one after. The difference between those two readings — the session cost — tells you exactly how much autonomic stress the workout put on your nervous system.
How do I use it?
Stick the adhesive mount to your sternum. Snap Myth on magnetically. Open the app and tap Begin Workout for a 60-second pre-workout read. Train. Tap End Workout for a 60-second post-workout read. Your session cost, recovery score, and tonight's recovery plan appear instantly.
Does it replace my Whoop or Oura?
No — it measures what they can't. Your wearable tells you how last night went. Myth tells you what today's session cost. These are different measurements taken at different moments answering different questions. Many users use both: their wearable for sleep and daily trends, Myth for real-time session cost and recovery planning.
Will the adhesive stay on during a hard workout?
Yes. The adhesive is medical-grade silicone — the same category used in continuous glucose monitors worn for 10–14 days including workouts and showers. Myth uses the same adhesive for roughly 60–90 minutes. The holding force is approximately 9 times greater than the maximum dynamic force during explosive exercise.
What if the adhesive irritates my skin?
The adhesive is ISO 10993 biocompatible, hypoallergenic, and rated for sensitive skin. These are the same adhesive families used in medical patches worn for days at a time. For a 60–90 minute training session, skin irritation risk is near zero. Fresh mounts are delivered monthly so you always have a clean one for every session.
How long does the battery last?
Months per charge. Myth only wakes for two 60-second readings per session, then returns to deep sleep drawing less than 5 microamps. The magnetic charging dock (USB-C) charges the device fully in about 70 minutes. Set it on the dock and it snaps into place automatically.
What exactly is a "session cost"?
When you train hard, your nervous system shifts from rest mode into stress mode — a measurable event called vagal withdrawal. Your HRV drops and your heart rate climbs. Myth captures this shift by comparing your pre-workout and post-workout HRV. The size of that gap is your session cost — a direct, honest measure of how much the workout took out of your body.
What phone does it work with?
Myth works with iOS via Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0. The device pairs automatically while resting on the charging dock — no manual Bluetooth pairing needed. Open the app, set the device on the dock, and it connects and binds to your account. Android support is planned for a future update.
